(Shin Saimdang)(1504~1551)

• A female artist who lived during the Chosun Dynasty.
• Shin is well-known as the mother of renowned Confucian scholar Yi I
• We use name of Saimdang which means succeeding to Tae-im (太任) who is mother of Moon emperor of Ju (周) province in ancient China.
• When only men dealt with art and literature at that date, Shin Saimdang performed both of them as a female. Shin Saimdang is Mother of women in Korea and the womankind who represent Korea
• The Bank of Korea(BOK) said on year 2009 that Shin Saimdang was selected as the face to grace the country's new 50,000 won banknote,
